Mt. Fuji of Ibaraki

#asiabudgetchallenge
Namasefuji, often called the “Mt. Fuji of Ibaraki,” is a modest but scenic mountain in Daigo Town. Despite its small size (329 meters), it offers sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and valleys and is especially beautiful in autumn. The trail to the summit is relatively easy, making it a great hike for beginners and families. Along the way, you’ll pass through quiet forests and charming rural landscapes that showcase the natural beauty of northern Ibaraki.

Rough Budget:
Free to hike. Transportation and light food: around ¥1,000–¥2,000.

#1 Travel Tip:
Travel Hack: Go in early November for peak autumn colors. Wear trail shoes and bring water—there are no shops near the trailhead. Start your hike in the morning to avoid afternoon clouds that can block the view from the top.
