How many times can one visit Yunnan in a lifetime?

Traveling in Yunnan, there’s so much to see. Should you rush through the sights or take your time to savor them?

Starting at 6 AM from the hotel, head to Yunshanping, located within the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain scenic area. Yunshanping is a lush alpine meadow nestled halfway up the main peak of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, hidden within dense spruce forests. On a clear day, you can catch a glimpse of the mountain’s main peak. Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, with an elevation of 5,596 meters, is often shrouded in mist and clouds, resembling a giant silver dragon from afar, hence its name. It’s said that not every visit guarantees a view of the snow-capped peak. By the time you leave, the area may already be enveloped in thick white fog. Next, visit Blue Moon Valley at the foot of the mountain, a dreamlike paradise where the crystal-clear blue waters of the lake offer a refreshing coolness.

For first-time visitors, don’t miss the performance "Impression Lijiang." Held in a semi-circular open-air theater with the snow-capped mountain as its backdrop, over 500 local residents passionately perform, sharing their ethnic stories. Amid the misty snow mountain, the resonating drumbeats and songs are truly awe-inspiring.

Erhai Lake, located in Dali, Yunnan, is a picturesque highland lake surrounded by the Cangshan Mountains. It’s a popular destination, but finding a perfect spot for photos along the romantic road or at a trendy tea house can be challenging due to the crowds.
