Erhai Lake, named for its resemblance to an "ear" in shape, is the second largest freshwater lake in Yunnan and also the "mother lake" of the Bai ethnic group. It is located on a plateau at an altitude of 1,972 meters, bordering Dali Ancient City to the east and the peaks of Cangshan Mountain to the west. The lake water is crystal clear. The magnificent scenery of "Cangshan Snow, Erhai Moon" is one of the most outstanding natural landscapes in China. You can:
🚤 Take a boat or kayak to visit the ancient Bai ethnic fishing villages by the lake and encounter rare aquatic plants; 📸 Stroll around the popular internet-famous town Shuanglang, drink coffee and enjoy the lake view, or visit Xizhou to see the ancient Bai ethnic dwellings; 🌅 Wait for the sunrise at Longkan Wharf and chase the sunset at Xingsheng Bridge.
