Waking up on the edge of Erhai Lake’s cliff, the first thing I see is the sapphire sea.

So lucky to have stumbled upon this cliffside sea view little nest
Erhai Lake surrounds me like an embrace, and time instantly slows down~
On my third day in Dali, I groggily checked into Nuannuan and accidentally found myself at a cliffside mid-mountain hotel in the heart of Shuanglang with a prime sea view and a mysterious Monet Garden overlooking the sea. That feeling of being at the edge of the sea. The hotel is naturally surrounded by Erhai Lake with a 270-degree view, no need to cross the street, just open the window to hear the gentle waves lapping the shore, super healing. I heard it’s the tallest in the core area, and below are those popular shops; a 15-minute walk gets you to Sun Palace and Nanzhao Style Island Pier. Strolling there early in the morning, the wind carries the scent of freedom.
The decor blends wabi-sabi style with Southern French romance, full of texture yet soft and cozy. I chose a sea view room, with a vinyl record player playing old songs, fresh-smelling Australian Apellis toiletries, a vintage mini fridge stocked with snacks and drinks to enjoy freely, and a quietly working air purifier guarding the air. Every morning, I enjoyed a hearty Chinese and Western breakfast while watching the sea, the afternoon tea was so exquisite I wanted to linger longer, and at night there was a sweet goodnight soup to warm the heart. The butler service was super attentive. You can also order drinks, cocktails, or light meals in the hotel, even customize a private chef dinner. If you’re too lazy to go out, just stay here all day—it feels like this is how travel helps you find inner peace~
Although it rained the next day, it was even more beautiful. Just like that, quietly listening to raindrops falling on the sea, I really want to stay here forever.
