Dalian Trip Recap: Your Ultimate 3-Day Guide

This gentle March, with perfect sunshine and a gentle breeze, I embarked on a journey to Dalian, a romantic coastal city. With its vast sea 🌊, European-style architecture 🏰, and countless delicacies, I'm excited to share my comprehensive 3-day Dalian travel guide with you~

Day 1: Xinghai Square - Xinghai Park - Heishijiao

- Morning: Upon arrival in Dalian, head straight to Xinghai Square, the largest city square in Asia. Standing on the square, you can see the endless sea, instantly healed by this magnificent scenery. Don't forget to take a photo with the Centennial City Sculpture on the square and experience the historical heritage of Dalian.

- Noon: Enjoy seafood at a restaurant near Xinghai Square. I recommend the seaweed buns and mackerel dumplings, both of which are Dalian specialties, fresh and delicious.

- Afternoon: Take a stroll along the coast from Xinghai Square to Xinghai Park, enjoying the sea view along the way. There are many amusement facilities in Xinghai Park, perfect for thrill-seekers. The park also has a Polar Ocean World, home to various marine animals, making it a great spot for photos.

- Evening: Head to Heishijiao, a perfect spot for sunset viewing. As the afterglow of the setting sun sprinkles on the reefs, the whole scene is as beautiful as a painting. After enjoying the sunset, visit the nearby snack street and try some grilled squid and fried mung bean jelly.

Day 2: Bangchui Island - Fisherman's Wharf - Tiger Beach Ocean Park

- Morning: Take a bus to Bangchui Island, known as Dalian's "natural oxygen bar" for its clear waters and fine sand. Stroll along the beach, breathe in the fresh air, and relax. You can also take photos in front of the Bangchui Island Hotel and experience the unique coastal scenery.

- Noon: Have lunch at a restaurant near Bangchui Island. I recommend trying the sea jelly, a traditional Dalian snack with a smooth texture.

- Afternoon: Visit Fisherman's Wharf, a place full of European charm. The colorful houses and docked fishing boats make you feel like you're in a European town. Taking photos by the wharf is very picturesque. You can also feed seagulls and enjoy a leisurely time.

- Evening: Go to Tiger Beach Ocean Park. The park has a light show in the evening, combining colorful lights with marine life, creating a dreamy atmosphere. After the visit, rest at a nearby hotel.

Day 3: Jinshitan National Tourist Resort

- Morning: Take the light rail to Jinshitan, known as a "natural geological museum" for its unique geological landscapes, such as the cracked stones and Dinosaur Exploring the Sea. Stroll along the coastline in Jinshitan Geopark and admire the wonders of nature.

- Noon: Have lunch at a seafood stall in Jinshitan. Choose from a variety of fresh seafood, steamed or stir-fried, to satisfy your taste buds.

- Afternoon: Visit the Golden Coast of Jinshitan. Even if you can't swim in the sea in March, strolling on the beach and enjoying the sea breeze is very pleasant. You can also enjoy some recreational activities on the beach, such as beach motorcycles. Afterward, prepare for your return journey, concluding your enjoyable Dalian trip.

🍱Food Recommendations

- Seaweed Buns: Filled with seaweed, these buns are delicious and nutritious.

- Mackerel Dumplings: A Dalian specialty, these dumplings are filled with tender and juicy mackerel meat, offering a burst of flavor with every bite.

- Sea Jelly: Made from agar, this snack has a smooth texture and a refreshing taste when paired with seasonings.

- Grilled Squid: Fresh squid grilled to golden brown and brushed with sauce, emitting a tempting aroma.

- Fried Mung Bean Jelly: Made from sweet potato starch, the mung bean jelly is pan-fried and served with sesame paste, garlic sauce, and other seasonings, creating a unique and delicious flavor.
