A hotel even students can afford, truly extraordinary.

Dalian Conrad Hotel

Located in Donggang, the hotel is at a convenient distance from Xinghai Square with abundant dining options nearby. It's also easy to reach Xiding, and you can walk to Donggang Venice.

Overall service is decent. While no concierge was immediately visible upon entering the lobby, the front desk staff were very warm and even offered to help make reservations at Xiding. However, due to bad weather, we opted for Xiding delivery to enjoy in the hotel.

📍The grand lobby exudes the charm of historic architecture. Conrad shares the same building with Hilton - check-in for Hilton is on the left, Conrad on the right. The first-floor lobbies are interconnected, with Conrad occupying higher floors and Hilton the lower ones, somewhat similar to Chongqing Conrad and Chongqing Jiafa Hilton DoubleTree.

🏨The living room and bedroom of the deluxe suite both offer sea views, with a retro-style decor. The suite doesn't have a guest bathroom, only one restroom, equipped with 5100 mineral water and Bredo toiletries. The housekeeping staff are cheerful with typical northeastern Chinese straightforwardness.

💁The executive lounge on the 38th floor is shared with Hilton, which somewhat affects the experience. In this case, one might consider booking Hilton directly while enjoying Conrad's executive lounge. The lounge offers decent food with sea views - breakfast here is recommended over Hilton's breakfast restaurant for a more comfortable experience.

Afternoon tea includes fresh juices, while happy hour and breakfast offer abundant variety.

Summary: Though Dalian Conrad shows its age, it offers affordable prices, convenient location, and rich surrounding amenities. The sea-view deluxe suite, decent executive lounge food, and beautiful pool make it outstanding value at just over ¥1,000. While the hardware is somewhat dated and sharing the executive lounge with Hilton slightly affects the experience, overall it's quite satisfactory, suitable for budget-conscious travelers or those wanting to experience different hotels.
