Daocheng Yading | The Pilgrimage to the Last Pure Land on Earth✨

Finally completed my long-awaited trip to Daocheng Yading! This is the filming location of "Passing Through Your World," and the plateau scenery at over 4000 meters altitude is breathtakingly beautiful. Sharing my super detailed 5 days 4 nights guide to help you explore this last pure land on our blue planet~

🚶‍♀️Itinerary
Day 1: Chengdu → Kangding → Xinduqiao
First stop is Kangding, the birthplace of the Kangding Love Song. It’s recommended to acclimate to the altitude in Xinduqiao.
Recommended to stay at a Tibetan-style guesthouse in Xinduqiao to experience authentic Tibetan culture.

Day 2: Xinduqiao → Litang → Daocheng
Cross Gaer Mountain, visit Changqingchun Ke’er Monastery in Litang.
In Daocheng town, try the yak meat hotpot (specific location: next to Snow Mountain Square in Daocheng County).

Day 3: Daocheng → Yading Scenic Area
At Luorong Pasture, see the reflection of the snow mountain, then hike to Milk Lake.
There is only one restaurant in the scenic area (Yading Village Visitor Center), so it’s recommended to bring your own snacks.

Day 4: In-depth tour of Yading
Don’t miss the Five Color Lake! The best time for photos is before 10 a.m.
At Chonggu Monastery, you can chat with the lamas and listen to their stories about mountain circumambulation.

Day 5: Return trip
Remember to buy some plateau specialties: matsutake mushrooms, yak jerky, and highland barley cakes.

⚠️Super useful tips:
1. Take altitude sickness medicine in advance (Rhodiola + glucose).
2. Oxygen bottles cost 80 yuan in the scenic area; it’s better to buy one in Chengdu for 20 yuan.
3. October is the best season, but the temperature difference is large (down jacket is a must).
4. There are no ATMs in the scenic area, so bring enough cash.
5. Sunscreen! Sunscreen! The ultraviolet rays on the plateau are very strong.
