🏞️🚗 3D2N Darwin & Kakadu Itinerary: Your Ultimate Northern Territory Adventure!

#summervacay
Here's a detailed guide for your 3-day, 2-night adventure in Darwin and Kakadu!

Day 1: Arrival & Darwin City Exploration

Arrival in Darwin: My flight, XQF114 SIN-DRW, landed in Darwin past 1 AM. I grabbed an Uber to the hotel for a quick overnight stay to recover.

Morning City Walk: The next morning, I kicked off my city walk with a coffee from a cafe near the hotel. Darwin's city center is quite compact; you can easily explore most of it within two hours. Don't miss:

Bicentennial Park: Great for a leisurely stroll.
Northern Territory Parliament House: An interesting architectural stop.
Waterfront Precinct: A lively area with eateries and a relaxed vibe.
Stokes Hill Wharf: Perfect for enjoying the harbor views and grabbing a bite.
Prepping for Kakadu:

Rent a 4WD: I rented a 4WD jeep based on advice that some parts of Kakadu National Park are only accessible by 4WD (though, to be honest, I didn't actually need it during my trip). Be aware: there's an extra charge of A$0.33 per kilometer if you exceed 100km per day, which seems to be a unique thing to Australia!
Stock Up at the Supermarket: After picking up the car, make sure to hit the supermarket! Stock up on plenty of water, snacks, and ready-to-eat meals, as supplies in Kakadu are quite limited.
Offline Maps are Crucial: Download Google Maps offline for the Kakadu area in advance, as mobile phone signal is virtually non-existent in the park.
Day 2 & 3 will focus on the incredible Kakadu National Park. Get ready for an adventure into ancient landscapes and rich Aboriginal culture!
