【Tella Tella Cafe, Zhongshan, Taipei】A popular retro cafe

Tella Tella Cafe, which has been open for half a year, is still popular among young people. Its charm probably comes from its cute, childlike and retro decoration style!

Walking from the MRT Zhongshan Station to Chifeng Street, you will immediately notice the logo of a girl wearing a red painter's hat and a bright Japanese light box with red letters on a white background. The store is on the second floor, and as soon as you enter the door you're transported back to the 1970s. The floor tiles are made of terrazzo, a common material in old houses, and the furniture is made of wooden cabinets and retro sofas in antique tones. Every corner of the store has become a popular check-in spot. In addition to the slogan "Life is bright and everything is cute" written in Chinese and Japanese on the wall, the small balcony is especially popular, with customers often coming in and out to take pictures.

The store offers both savory and sweet dishes. I ordered an apple cinnamon warm cake (NT$150) and a Capuccino (NT$160), both of which were good choices. After all, it’s an internet-famous restaurant, so you have to accept the noise when it’s full and the indirect impact of people walking around taking photos. Also, remember to call to make a reservation in advance! (Walk-in takes a long time...!)
