Autumn walk through Dazaifu

Pleasant day trip to Dazaifu Shrine 🍁 The tranquility, cultural significance, and gorgeous architecture makes it so special. Absolutely in love with the serene surrounding, beautiful garden, 1000-year old trees and traditional wooden structures and the lovely weather. Most of the trees in that garden there are still green, but some have developed the most intense autumn colors I've ever seen. The place is famed for plum blossoms, and around 6,000 plum trees bloom in late winter. The walkway leading to the shrine is a five minutes walk from Dazaifu station. Cute shops, teahouses, and cafes line the street selling traditional snacks, souvenirs, and crafts. Be sure to also try the best Katsudon by the pound.

Highly recommend a day trip to Dazaifu. Plenty to explore. Lovely heritage town.

Getting There - Easy acxess. About one hour direct bus ride from Hakata bus terminal. Its proximity to Fukuoka and simplicity of access make it a great day trip for all ages.
