Check in at Fukuoka Tenmangu Shrine in Japan

#Fukuoka Attractions

Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, where Sugawara no Michizane (or Tenjin) is enshrined, is the god of learning, culture and art. As one of the most important Shinto shrines in Japan, it is the head shrine of 12,000 Tenjin shrines across the country and one of the most popular tourist attractions in Fukuoka.

When you enter the shrine, the first thing that catches your eye is the torii gate. After passing through the torii gate, you will see a shop selling amulets. There is a washbasin in front of the main hall of the shrine, with the words "Clean hands, clean mouth, clean heart" written next to it, reminding everyone who comes to pray to cleanse their souls. The entrance to the main hall is always crowded with believers waiting to pray.

The shrine is filled with wind chimes and amulets for blessing, creating a strong atmosphere of prayer. There are three connected stone bridges in front of the main hall, representing "previous life", "present life" and "next life" respectively. When walking across the bridge of your previous life, you must not look back; when walking across the bridge of this life, you must walk with your head held high; when walking across the bridge of the next life, you must walk steadily. On both sides of the bridge are typical Japanese-style landscape gardens.

The shrine and its surrounding area are very quaint, but its interpretation of art is timeless and the scenery here is also quite good. It is definitely worth a visit! !
