Watching the Meili Snow Mountain from the comfort of your bed!

The best spots to view the Meili Snow Mountain are Feilai Temple and Wunongding Viewing Platform.

Feilai Temple is located about 10 kilometers from Deqin County, right beside the Sino-Tibetan Highway. It faces the main peak of Meili Snow Mountain, Kawagebo, making it an excellent spot for capturing the golden sunrise on the mountain. With nearby guesthouses, hotels, and restaurants, if you want to comfortably lie in a hotel bed and see the snow mountain, Feilai Temple is definitely the top choice without a doubt.

The hotel I booked this time, with views of the Meili Snow Mountain, is right across from the Feilai Temple Viewing Platform. Due to bad weather, I arrived a bit early in the afternoon, and the room wasn't ready yet, so I went to the restaurant to enjoy the complimentary afternoon tea first.

🪨Room
Equipped with underfloor heating, it's very comfortable. The outside balcony has cozy sofa seats, and there's a phone stand for taking time-lapse photos. Originally, you could see the Meili Snow Mountain directly, but unfortunately, the rain and snow continued until bedtime. Due to the high altitude, the room also has an oxygen supply machine.

In the morning, I thought it was all over, that I wouldn't see anything. Unexpectedly, at 6:30 am, I opened the curtains and saw the snow mountain in the dimly lit sky. If it weren't for the slight dizziness from altitude sickness, I would have jumped up excitedly right away.

Clouds and mist drifted by, and the scenery in front of me changed in an instant. Standing on the balcony, every balcony had excited guests, and we even saw a rainbow.

If the weather is good, the rooftop is actually the best spot for photography, with a sky mirror, swing, sofa, and other photo props. But due to the snowy weather, the ground was frozen into ice, very wet and slippery.

🪨Meals
Breakfast is served individually. The housekeeper had asked in the group chat beforehand what the main dish should be, and it was quickly delivered after I sat down and reported my room number.

For the main dish, I had rice noodles, which I didn't enjoy properly because I was too focused on photographing the snow mountain. The complimentary local snacks were quite distinctive.

I also ordered dinner directly at the hotel, and the home-cooked stir-fried dishes tasted very good.

The young men and women at this hotel were also really enthusiastic. The service was worth the price, and they even gave us a small gift when we left.
