Known as Wuxi's "open-air history museum," the ancient town's Huishan Temple, originally built during the Southern and Northern Dynasties, boasts a thousand-year history.
Xihui Park boasts renowned attractions such as the Second Best Spring in the World, Jichang Garden, and Huishan Temple. This area embodies the essence of Wuxi's culture. The park's Huishan Spring was hailed as the "Second Best Spring in the World" by the renowned tea sage Lu Yu, and the renowned erhu piece "Erquan Yingyue" (Erquan Yingyue) was composed beside this spring.
Jichang Garden was a favorite stop in Wuxi during Emperor Qianlong's six tours south of the Yangtze River. The Xiqu Garden in the Summer Palace is a clone of Jichang Garden. Climbing the Longguang Pagoda offers a panoramic view of Wuxi. Other attractions include Huishan Temple and Yinyuan Garden.
The Wuxi City Flower, the Azalea Festival, is held from April to June every year; in autumn, the annual Golden Autumn Chrysanthemum Exhibition, a large-scale flower exhibition, is held.
