Tunamaya Beach & Spa Resort – Desaru is a resort located in Bandar Penawar, Desaru, Johor, Malaysia. It has 134 rooms and suites and is beachfront, offering private beach access and sea views from many rooms.  The resort opened in 2015 and is about an hour’s drive from Johor Bahru city centre.

My Impression
Staying at Tunamaya feels like hitting pause in a naturally beautiful stretch of coastline. Waking up to sea views, evening walks by the private beach, and lazy afternoons by the pool are wonderfully restorative. The food, especially the seafood by the coast, adds flavour to the stay—fresh, satisfying without being over-complicated. If I were to pick a stand-out moment: sipping a drink at the beach bar as the sun dips, listening to waves, feeling the breeze—these simple things feel richer here.
