The founding date of Hongfu Temple is unknown, but according to the inscriptions in the temple, it was built in the Northern Song Dynasty at the latest, and was renovated in the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. There are five main halls facing north and south, five east side halls, and only two west side halls left.
There is a mountain gate on the south side and surrounding walls. The five-bay main hall has a six-purlin gable roof and is three bays deep, with a solid and beautiful structure. A plaque with the words "Vilu Zhenjing" hangs in the middle of the main hall door, which was written by Li Hang from this village in the ninth year of the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty. There are nine main Buddha statues in the hall, as well as many scattered statues and hanging sculptures. In the middle is Sakyamuni, with Kasyapa and Ananda on both sides, Manjusri and Samantabhadra on both sides, and two Bodhisattvas on both sides, and two Vajra statues on the outside. The entire group of statues has a harmonious rhythm, appropriate arrangement, exquisiteness, lifelikeness and rich artistic imagination. It is very different from general replicas and is of considerable value for the study of traditional sculpture techniques.
