The Dolomites are a spectacular mountain range located in northeastern Italy, part of the Southern Limestone Alps.

Location: Northeastern Italy, mainly in the provinces of South Tyrol, Trentino, and Belluno.

UNESCO World Heritage Site: Recognized for their unique geological features and breathtaking landscapes.

Geology: Famous for their pale-colored dolomitic limestone peaks, often glowing pink or orange during sunrise and sunset (called "enrosadira").

Highest Peak: Marmolada, at 3,343 meters (10,968 feet).
