Dongguan Science Museum: A great place for kids to go

#Greater Bay Area Attractions
On the last day of our four-day, three-night trip to Dongguan, we took our children to the Dongguan Science Museum in the city center, where they spent a solid three hours playing.

The Dongguan Science Museum was built in 1992. Its exterior reflects Dongguan's prosperity 23 years ago. Compared to the towering modern skyscrapers, it may seem dated, but its significance is unique.

Admission requires advance reservations. Search "Dongguan Science Museum" on the official website or WeChat mini-program and click "Visit Reservation." Admission is free.

There's a desert-themed exhibition currently running until October 15th. It focuses on the desert's landscape and animals, such as lizards and mongooses. The second floor is primarily a children's and youth experience area, with a mathematics section showcasing the Pythagorean theorem, the normal distribution, gravity and velocity, and geometric surfaces. The acoustics section features exhibits on rotating fast enough to make a metal egg stand upright, and the speed of sand at different vibration frequencies.

The third floor is dedicated to science education, with information on mental health, human anatomy, and some moving insect specimens.

If you still have energy after visiting the Science Museum, the nearby Dongguan People's Park, Dongguan Museum, and Dongguan Children's Library are great places to take your kids.
