Shandong University's Xinglongshan Campus, also known as the Nanxin Campus, is located on the south side of Jinan's South Outer Ring Road. Covering 1,153 mu (approximately 1,153 acres), it is the largest of Shandong University's six campuses in Jinan. The 49,000-square-meter contiguous building complex in the teaching and office area includes eight tiered classrooms accommodating 300 people each and two lecture halls accommodating 500 people each. Over 60% of the classrooms are equipped with multimedia equipment. A 40,000-square-meter comprehensive laboratory building within the teaching area is nearing completion. The student living area boasts 90,000 square meters of modern student housing, a 17,000-square-meter student cafeteria and university student activity center, and 3,000 square meters of bathrooms and hot water rooms, providing comprehensive living facilities and a full range of functions. The sports area features a variety of athletic facilities, including a plastic playground, a weatherproof playground, and a lighted court, providing excellent exercise and competitive opportunities for both faculty and students.
The Xinglongshan Campus is a beautiful campus. It offers a sense of tranquility, a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, and a sense of mountain living. It's primarily home to freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors from the School of Engineering.
Jinan has a temperate monsoon climate with obvious monsoons and distinct four seasons: dry and rainy spring, warm and rainy summer, cool and dry autumn, and cold and snowy winter.
