"Kouxi" is a dialect from Dongyang, Zhejiang, which means "go play". In the minds of Dongyang citizens, Lu’s house is a “dangerous and fun” place, which means “extremely fun”. Because here there is not only the largest and most complete ancient building complex of Ming and Qing Dynasties in the Jiangnan region, but also the Eastern-style antique buildings with white walls, black tiles, small bridges and flowing water; there are more than 30 intangible cultural heritage projects such as wood carving, bamboo weaving, ham, rice wine, rice sculptures, dough sculptures, tin art, etc.; there are also many food and leisure places such as restaurants, bars, tea rooms, and cafes.

In 2023, Lu's House was rated as a national 4A-level scenic spot. The scenic area is mainly divided into two parts: the ancient buildings of Ming and Qing Dynasties and the intangible cultural heritage block.

The ancient building complex of Ming and Qing Dynasties is a national cultural relic protection unit, integrating Dongyang wood carving, stone carving, brick carving, stacked sculpture and painted art. You need to buy a 65 yuan ticket to enter and visit. From January 1 to February 28, 2025 (except the first to tenth days of the first lunar month), Dongyang residents can visit for free. I think that making it free only for Dongyang residents is too small a scope. Some out-of-town tourists turned around and left when they saw the ticket price.

The Luzhai Intangible Cultural Heritage Street District is a provincial-level traditional folk house cultural heritage ecological protection zone, where tourists can enter and exit freely. The block has three functional areas: traditional crafts, traditional food, and traditional performances, and is arranged according to the concepts of static display, normal demonstration, dynamic experience, and living inheritance. The Spring Festival is approaching, and big red lanterns are hung high here, and several red plum trees are sprouting new buds, telling the story of the people's prosperity.
