Guangxi Hechi Du'an Tianchuang Travel Guide

Du'an, this small county surrounded by karst landscapes, always reminds people of the idyllic paradise described by Tao Yuanming🌟 A three-day, two-night trip is just perfect.

🔆Location
Jiuling Tianchuang, Du'an, Hechi
🔆Transportation
Take the high-speed train to Du'an from Hechi West Station, with local guides providing car transfers (it's best to drive yourself if possible, as local transportation isn't very convenient)

🌿3-Day Itinerary in Du'an
DAY1:
📍Chengjiang National Wetland Park: Free admission. Rent a bicycle for a leisurely ride and enjoy the stunning reflection of karst mountains on the lake🚲
📍Xiangshui Pass Bridge: A Ming Dynasty ancient bridge perfect for photos. The crystal-clear stream beneath is ideal for summer water play💦
📍Baxian Ancient Cave: Karst cave scenery. Remember to bring a jacket (it's chilly inside) and a flashlight🔦

DAY2:
📍Underground River Scenic Area: Arrive before 9 AM to witness the dreamy halo of sunlight on the underground river🌊
📍Gaoling Town: Particularly lively on market days (3rd, 6th, 9th, etc. of the month), where you can buy local handicrafts and specialty agricultural products🛍️
📍Yao Village: Experience Yao ethnic culture. Arrange in advance to enjoy authentic Yao family meals🍚

DAY3:
📍Jiuchongtian Scenic Area: Well-maintained hiking trails take about 2 hours to reach the summit with spectacular views⛰️
📍Batan Lake: A favorite local water source where you can ride bamboo rafts. Best visited at dusk for sunset views🌄

💡My Personal Tips:
1. The county town is small but peaceful. Stay near the bus station for convenience.
2. Local cuisine leans towards sour and spicy flavors. Try the sour fish soup and pickled sour meat.
3. No direct buses between attractions. Consider hiring a car (200-300 CNY/day).
4. April-October is the best travel season, with some sites closed in winter.

🏫Accommodation: Few homestays at Jiuling Tianchuang—book early (~100+ CNY/night). Alternatively, camp at Xiangshui Pass (bring your own tent for better value).
🚘Avoid Peak Hours: Jiuling Tianchuang may get crowded during holidays. Arrive before 9 AM.

✅Food Recommendations:
At night, head to Old Street, Chengjiang Water Street, or the square night market for Du'an delicacies. These areas transform into vibrant night markets with grilled oysters🦪, skewers🍢, fried noodles🍝. Who understands Guangxi's fruit freedom? Seasonal mangoes, longans, dragon fruit, and wampee are abundant, often priced at 10 CNY for 3/5 jin. They're also made into drinks and desserts. Don't miss Du'an's "suan ye"—a local way of enjoying fruits, available everywhere. Fruit lovers are in for a treat❗
