🎈Dear friends, make sure to save this travel guide when visiting Dujiangyan!
🚗Transportation:
Take the high-speed train from Chengdu Xipu Station, and you'll reach Dujiangyan Station in 30 minutes for as low as 10 yuan. Once you exit, you can immediately feel the warmth of Dujiangyan. If driving, take the Chengdu-Guanxian Expressway; it takes about an hour. Parking in the scenic area costs 10-20 yuan per day. If you don’t want to drive, you can take a bus from Chadianzi Station to Dujiangyan Bus Center, which takes 1.5 hours and costs 20-30 yuan. The sightseeing shuttle within the scenic area costs 10 yuan one way (from Beiting to Yuzui). If you want to take it slow, hiking for 3 hours is also a fantastic experience, but remember to hire a guide, or you might miss many interesting details~
💰Tickets and Opening Hours:
Peak season (April to October) costs 80 yuan, off-season (November to March) costs 60 yuan. Students and seniors get half price, and seniors over 60 and children under 6 enter for free—such a great benefit! Opening hours are 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, extended to 6:30 PM in summer. For guided services, electronic guides cost 20 yuan, and tour guides range from 100 to 200 yuan per group—choose as needed.
🌟Must-Visit Attractions:
Don’t miss the water conservancy engineering area: Yuzui water diversion, Feishayan flood discharge, and Baopingkou water control—ancient wisdom at its finest! Also, the Anlan Suspension Bridge across the Min River is a must; walking on it sways gently and is perfect for photos. Don’t overlook cultural landmarks: Erwang Temple commemorates the father and son Li Bing, Fulongguan offers a panoramic view of Baopingkou, and Yulei Pavilion (separate ticket) provides a breathtaking view of Dujiangyan. Nearby attractions are also rich: Qingcheng Mountain (80 yuan for the front mountain), Panda Valley (55 yuan), Guanxian Ancient City is free to explore, and the night view of Nanqiao Bridge is stunning, like a fairy tale world.
📌Classic Itinerary:
For a one-day trip, visit the water conservancy project in the morning, stroll the ancient city in the afternoon, and enjoy the night view of Nanqiao Bridge in the evening—a fulfilling and satisfying day. If you have two days, Day 1 can be Dujiangyan and the ancient city, and Day 2 can be climbing Qingcheng Mountain or visiting the adorable pandas. In summer, you can also experience the thrilling Hongkou rafting.
🍜Food Map:
Snacks include Taiping Street’s Zhang Laozhao Fenzi, Jiang’an Road’s You Rabbit Head, and Cultural Revolution Scallion Rolls—each bite is super satisfying. For main meals, try the classic Laohao Luo Ji Cold Pot Fish and Junshoufu Minjiang Fish for a feast. Nightlife is lively too: enjoy skewers at Nanqiao Night Market and sip covered bowl tea at Qingcheng Mountain’s Heming Teahouse—this is what travel should be like.
🏠Accommodation Recommendations:
For a high-end stay, choose Qingcheng Mountain Six Senses Hotel or Yulei Mountain Residence; for cost-effectiveness, Dujiangyan Center Holiday Inn Express or Ancient City Homestay Xian Zai·Hou She are great options; if you like a lively atmosphere, hostels like Demba International Inn (near Nanqiao) are suitable, but remember to book early during peak season.
💡Travel Tips:
Visit from March to May to enjoy the flowers, and from September to November for cool weather—perfect for sightseeing. Wear sports shoes, apply sunscreen in summer, and keep warm in winter. Prices in the scenic area are a bit high, so bring your own water and snacks. Buying a combined ticket for Dujiangyan and Qingcheng Mountain at 150 yuan is more cost-effective. Please keep quiet in religious sites and avoid touching ancient relics.
