Reflections of the Lost

At dusk, Duddingston Loch becomes a mirror of ghosts. The water lies still, the trees bend low, and the air smells of wet leaves. On Halloween, I brought a lantern and walked the edge of the path. The reflection of Arthur’s Seat shimmered on the surface, but occasionally rippled though no wind stirred. Maybe it was just fish — or maybe something older beneath the water. It’s a place where nature hides its own legends. I left before the mist got too thick. #hellohalloween
