Exceptional Family Stay at Tanah Gajah

Our family had a wonderful holiday at Tanah Gajah. From the warm greeting by our driver at Bali airport to our departure, the service offered by the staff was top-notch. Unlike the new flashy resorts emerging everywhere on Bali due to overdevelopment, this location provides a serene escape just a short distance from Ubud's busy streets. We were lucky to have booked villa 1 - The Hapriana Estate, which offered outstanding value. It was a fantastic space for us and our two teenagers, complete with a superb private pool. The website pictures always matched reality. The shuttle service to Ubud worked smoothly, and the meals at breakfast and dinner were delightful, which we indulged in almost every day. The complimentary massages exceeded expectations for a resort with only 20 villas. On our first evening, we watched the traditional Bali fire dance right outside our villa, a source of pride for the staff, many of whom have family members involved in the performance. Once, when the dance was scheduled during our stay, we couldn't get a dinner reservation at the restaurant, but the hotel generously provided dinner in our room. Booking dinner is advisable if you plan to eat there, even when the hotel seems quiet. In summary, we had a leisurely, delightful stay in an authentically impressive setting. Our next Bali hotel didn't hold a candle to Tanah Gajah.
