A total of 257 terraced rice fields, with an average gradient of approximately 20%, curve across the bowl-shaped slope.

Kashidani Rice Terraces has been certified as a "Connecting Rice Terrace Heritage" by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and is attracting attention as a model for rice terrace preservation and satoyama conservation.

The area has introduced a rice terrace owner system and a trust system. Participants can participate in rice terrace conservation through rice planting and harvesting experiences, and receive special benefits such as harvested rice and vegetables.

The scenery changes with the seasons, from the flooding of the fields in spring, the golden age of rice ears in autumn, to the arrival of the chestnut tiger butterflies.
