Transportation
The nearest airport is actually Jiayuguan (less than 300 kilometers), you can also visit the Aerospace City on the way. If the timing is right, you might see a launch.

Weather:
Cold in the morning and evening, hot enough to wear short sleeves at noon, dress in layers (skirts with white or red are best)

Heicheng Ruoshui Populus Euphratica Forest, Strange Forest (ticket 210 yuan including shuttle bus)
Tour route:
First take the small electric cart to the Populus Euphratica forest scenic area (the signs inside the scenic area are very clear, just follow them). A ticket allows access to the Strange Forest (B ticket does not). At Love Island station, tickets are checked again. Take the small train or tractor to get off at the north city wall, then check tickets again and transfer to a bus to the Strange Forest.
The Strange Forest is suitable for sunset photography.
It takes about 20 minutes to walk quickly from the entrance to the exit. Running across the sandy area can save time, walking on the wooden boardwalk is very slow. If you are on a group tour, please plan your time reasonably. Shuttle bus waiting times are long and very crowded.

Tour route:
There are 8 bridges in total. The most worth seeing are the 2nd, 4th, and 8th bridges. You can only walk between the 1st and 2nd bridges (about 1 hour), it takes less than 10 minutes by car from the 2nd to the 4th bridge, and about 0.5 hours by car from the 4th to the 8th bridge (you need to transfer at the 7th bridge). On the return trip, you can stay on the bus all the way without getting off, but the bus will stop at the 4th and 2nd bridges.
Highlights of the 2nd bridge include water reflections and a small train crossing the rainbow bridge over the water.
The 4th bridge is also called Hero Forest. It became famous because the movie "Hero" was filmed there. There are many big trees and many photo spots.
The 8th bridge features desert scenery, mainly desert tourism projects. If time is tight at the exit, you can skip it. If you have been to Mingsha Mountain, you can also skip this.

There are few toilets inside, and the queues are long.
