The Qizhe Waterfall is a magnificent sight in the Nanxi River Longwantan Forest Park. Of course, visitors can only get close to the seventh fold waterfall and Longtan at the bottom. The other folds can only be seen by climbing to a high place, and the fourth fold cannot be seen due to the angle.
Wenzhou has a mid-subtropical monsoon climate zone, with significant alternation between winter and summer monsoons, moderate temperatures, distinct four seasons, and abundant rainfall.
All seasons are suitable for visiting, but spring and autumn are the best.
The cliffs of the Seven Waterfalls Canyon gradually rise with the terrain, reaching their highest point, known locally as Motianling. The cliff faces are completely bare, straight and slippery, with no grass growing. Visitors ascend by stone steps carved into the cliff face. The final section is incredibly steep, reaching a vertical drop of approximately 80 degrees. The steps are irregularly arranged and often damaged, so only the bravest and wisest can reach the summit.

Qizhe Waterfall is located in Wenzhou, Zhejiang. It is accessible by taxi or private car from Wenzhou city. Public transport options are limited, but buses to nearby areas may be available. Walking trails lead directly to the waterfall.
The waterfall is open year-round, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The best times to visit are during spring and autumn when the weather is mild, and the natural surroundings are at their most vibrant.
The entrance fee is typically around 30-50 RMB. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance or via local online platforms, depending on availability.
Booking tickets in advance is recommended during busy seasons (such as national holidays), ideally 1-2 days ahead. However, tickets can usually be purchased on-site if visiting during off-peak times.
You’ll need about 2-3 hours to fully explore the waterfall and its surroundings. If you plan to hike on the longer trails, you may want to allocate half a day.
Guided tours are available in Mandarin. English-speaking guides may be available upon request. Audio guides are not commonly available, but local guides often provide detailed insights into the area.
Start by visiting the waterfall for a close-up view, then follow the nearby trails leading to higher ground for an overall view of the area. End your visit with a walk along the streams for a more tranquil experience.
Night visits are not available at Qizhe Waterfall. The waterfall is best visited during daylight hours to fully enjoy its natural beauty.
The waterfall can get crowded during weekends and public holidays. The least crowded times are early mornings and weekdays, particularly during the off-season in winter and late autumn.
There are basic facilities such as toilets and small food stalls near the entrance. Water is available for purchase, and there are rest areas along the trails for visitors to take a break. There are no large shops inside the park.
The main areas near the waterfall are accessible for elderly and children, though some of the trails can be steep and challenging. Visitors with disabilities may find it difficult to navigate the terrain, especially on the longer trails.
Mobile payments such as WeChat Pay and Alipay are accepted, as well as cash. Credit cards are not commonly accepted inside the park.
There are a few local restaurants near the entrance offering Zhejiang cuisine, such as fresh seafood, noodles, and local specialties.
Vegetarian options are available at local restaurants. However, halal food options may be limited in the area.
There are small souvenir stalls near the entrance selling local crafts, snacks, and trinkets. Typical souvenirs include hand-carved wooden items, local tea, and traditional pottery.
After visiting, taxis, buses, or private cars are the best ways to continue your trip. Wenzhou city is easily accessible via public transport, and buses to other tourist destinations are available from the city center.
