2025.10.13 The Ejina Poplar Forest is located in the heart of the Alxa Desert, its core area is in the Ejina Oasis, bordering Dalaihob Town to the west, and Juyan Lake to the north.

It covers a total area of approximately 450,000 mu (29,607 hectares), and is composed of multiple protected areas, including the Inner Mongolia Ejina Poplar Forest National Nature Reserve (26,253 hectares) and the Inner Mongolia Ejina Poplar National Forest Park (5,636 hectares).

Poplar trees are ancient relict species from the Tertiary period, known as "living plant fossils," possessing drought-resistant and salt-tolerant characteristics. They support the desert oasis ecosystem and protect rare animals and plants such as the Mongolian wild ass and ruddy shelduck. Since 2000, with the implementation of water diversion from the main stream of the Heihe River, a cumulative 16.1 billion cubic meters of water has been supplied, and the area of the poplar forest has recovered from 390,000 mu to 450,000 mu.
Living for a thousand years without dying, dying for a thousand years without falling, falling for a thousand years without decaying. Three thousand years of waiting, just for this moment's encounter. Three thousand years of guardianship, just to await your arrival. This is a tribute to time, a gift from nature...🍀
