Introducing Longyin Temple

Longyin Temple, also known as Longwei Temple, is located on Jiulong Mountain in Nonglin Village, Zhuhai Town, within the Shunan Bamboo Sea Scenic Area. Surrounded by rolling green waves, the vast expanse of the sky, the wind rustles the bamboos, and the sound of the waves, like the roar of a dragon, gives it the name Longyin Temple. The temple comprises three parts: Longyin Temple, Qingyun Corridor, and Youlongpo. It features green mountains, ancient temples, bamboo culture, and Buddhist traditions.

Longyin Temple currently houses 41 Buddha statues. Three large Buddha statues sit atop lotus thrones in the main hall. These statues are solemn and majestic, unlike the typically benevolent and quiet Buddha statues found in other temples. Experts from the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and the National Museum of History have determined that their style resembles that of Tibetan Negev. The arhats on either side, some sitting, some reclining, some smiling, some contemplating, present a variety of poses.

The front hall, back hall and two corridors also have statues of Amitabha Buddha, Guanyin, Weituotian, Linggong, etc. These statues are exquisitely carved, with smooth lines and vivid shapes, full of life.
