A Stunning Secret in the Deep Blue Aegean Sea

🏖️ Zakynthos, Greece: The Dream of Shipwreck Bay in Blue and White

This summer, I finally checked in at the filming location of "Descendants of the Sun"—Zakynthos Island! This gem in the Ionian Sea not only boasts jelly-blue waters but also a wealth of cultural stories and hidden experiences worth exploring.

✨ Must-visit spots:
√ Navagio Beach (Shipwreck Bay)
One of the most beautiful beaches in the world, where the famous rusted shipwreck lies quietly on the white sand. It’s recommended to take a speedboat there (€15 per person); the captain will stop at the best photo spots! Be sure to go before 9 AM or after 4 PM for the most magical lighting!

√ Blue Caves
Naturally formed sea caves that display different shades of blue under sunlight refraction. Remember to bring your swimsuit so you can jump into this crystal-clear "blue paint" and swim!

√ Laganas Beach
A super long golden sandy beach, perfect for capturing Instagram-worthy sunset shots. It’s also a nesting ground for Mediterranean loggerhead sea turtles, where you can see groups of Caretta caretta turtles from May to October.

🍽️ Food recommendations:
📍 Taverna Panorama (Cliffside Restaurant)
Enjoy freshly grilled seafood while overlooking the entire Shipwreck Bay. The signature grilled octopus and lobster pasta are must-tries! Around €35 per person; booking in advance is recommended.

📍 Porto Schiza
A local favorite tavern, known for authentic Greek salad and Moussaka. The owner even offers homemade lemon liqueur as a gift~

🏨 Accommodation tips:
√ Dali Hotel
Right by the main beach, suites with private pools are only €120 per night, and it’s just a 3-minute walk to jump into the Ionian Sea.

√ Olea Hotel
An Instagram-style design hotel with a floating breakfast that’s perfect for photos, and a rooftop infinity pool facing the sunset.

📌 Practical tips:
1. The best travel season is from May to October; July and August are the busiest, so consider off-peak times.
2. Public transportation on the island is inconvenient; renting an ATV quad bike (€25/day) is recommended for free exploration.
3. To capture the full panorama of Shipwreck Bay, head to the cliff viewpoint; navigate by searching "Shipwreck Viewpoint."
