Getting to Stanserhorn requires several transfers.
Here are the directions:

1) Take the train from Luzern to Stans Station.
2) Take the Stans to Kalti Funicular.
To take the funicular, get off at Stans Station and walk about 10 minutes to the funicular platform.
3) Take the Kalti to Stanserhorn Open-Air Cable Car.
The funicular platform is where the open-air cable car platform is.
4) Tour the Stanserhorn Summit
