Mount Nebo in Jordan is a must-see on any pilgrimage. As recorded in the Bible, Moses climbed to the summit and gazed upon the land of Canaan. Indeed, from the summit, the breathtaking view of the Dead Sea, the Jordan River, and even Jerusalem in the distance was truly moving. 🌅 I couldn't help but think, "Ah, this is the place!"
Atop the summit stands a bronze serpent, a symbol of Mount Nebo. It symbolizes Moses lifting the bronze serpent to save the people in the wilderness. The towering cross-shaped structure was so striking that I couldn't help but stare at it for a long time. ✝️
Furthermore, the remains of a church, mosaic floors, and ancient artifacts were preserved, allowing me to experience both biblical history and early Christian culture. The abundance of pilgrims made it a great place for quiet reflection, and the short, easy hike made it even more satisfying.
📍 Address: Mount Nebo, Madaba Governorate, Jordan
👉 Don't just visit Petra and the Dead Sea during your Jordan trip. Be sure to also climb Mount Nebo. Beyond the mere scenery, you'll experience a spiritual resonance and historical significance.
