[Fangchenggang] A small fishing village with a feeling like the earth belongs only to me

A hidden off-the-beaten-path fishing village in Fangchenggang! Perfect for solo travelers 🌊
I used to think the sea in Fangchenggang lacked a bit of wow factor, mostly showing a yellowish tone, until I discovered Leshan Ancient Fishing Village — then my view changed. It turns out that with the right weather and angle, the sea here can capture a unique atmosphere.
🔺 Leshan Ancient Fishing Village
📍 Location: Eastern coastal area of the middle section of Qisha Peninsula, Gangkou District, Fangchenggang City
🎫 Admission: Free
🅿️ Parking: Parking within the scenic area costs 20 yuan, valid for up to 3 days, so it’s worth it if you explore more
🟣 Tested practical tips:
🔹 No need to chase the pavilion farthest away for photos! The railings there often block the view and make the shot look cluttered. It’s better to find a rock in the foreground, occasionally including a corner of the pavilion or just shooting the sea and sky for better photos.
🔹 Time your tide and photo sessions well! In the morning, the sea water provides a nice backdrop; by afternoon, the tide usually recedes. If you want to capture the “sea reflecting the fishing village,” don’t miss the timing.
🔹 The UV rays by the sea are very strong, for both adults and kids. Be sure to bring sun-protective clothing, hats, and sunscreen to avoid sunburn.
🔹 Don’t stress about eating around the scenic area! Options are limited and often disappointing. After visiting, head straight to Qisha Town for more authentic local seafood and home-style dishes.
🔹 For just photos and a simple stroll, you can explore thoroughly in just over an hour—no need to set aside half a day.
🔹 If you bring kids, there are lots of small shells and little crabs by the sea. Kids can play by the rocks for a long time. Going tide-pooling at night is even more fun, with adults joining in to find small seafood, making it lively and enjoyable.
🔹 A small reminder: Whether at Leshan Ancient Fishing Village or other beaches in Fangchenggang, you might occasionally see scattered trash. Hopefully, there will be more cleanup efforts in the future. Let’s all remember to take our trash with us and keep this fishing village clean.
