Qisha Town Tiantangtan, Fangchenggang | Untouched Wild Bay

Tiantangtan boasts a pristine wild beauty and has not yet been commercialized, preserving the original ecology of the fishing village. It sees few tourists, making it ideal for travelers seeking tranquility. The 3.5-kilometer silver beach has fine sand. The water is crystal clear, and the biggest highlight is the tidal changes—Butterfly Ridge, adjacent to the beach, becomes a sea island at high tide and connects to the mainland at low tide, revealing the beach and allowing visitors to walk to the island.

This place also carries a piece of wartime history. Butterfly Ridge was the first landing point of the Japanese invasion of southwest mainland China and can serve as a patriotic education base.

『Sunrise and Sunset』
Best viewing spots: Butterfly Island (walk to the island at low tide) or the rocky area on the east side of Tiantangtan. At sunrise, the sea surface glows golden, and the flowing clouds create a picturesque scene. Sunset bonus: After 6:30 PM, the beach turns pinkish-purple, forming a stunning composition with the silhouettes of fishing boats.

『Tide Pool Exploration』
Low tide period: Check the tide table (recommended app: “Global Tides”). After the tide recedes, shells, starfish, and small crabs appear on the beach. You can dig by hand or use a small shovel.

『Water Sports』
Snorkeling: Nearshore water visibility reaches 5 meters, allowing observation of coral reefs and tropical fish (no professional guidance, recommended to go with a companion).
Jet Skiing: Contact local fishermen to rent a boat (about 150 RMB/30 minutes) to experience the waves 500 meters offshore.

『Fishermen’s Cuisine』
Seafood processing: Buy freshly caught sandworms and squid at Qisha Town pier, then have them cooked at the beachside food stalls (processing fee 10-20 RMB per dish).

【Practical Guide】
① Tickets and Fees: Free admission, no ticket required. Parking fee is 10 RMB.
② Transportation: Drive and navigate to “Tiantangtan,” about 40 minutes from Fangchenggang city center, with a toll fee of 15 RMB. Or take public transport: from Fangchenggang North Station, take bus 115 to Qisha Town, then transfer to the “Fangcheng-Qisha Old Road” shuttle (10 RMB, 1 hour).
③ Equipment Suggestions: If planning to explore tide pools, bring small rakes, buckets, and non-slip shoes. Snorkeling gear rental: mask + snorkel 50 RMB/set, fins 30 RMB/pair.
④ Safety Warnings: The waves can be strong; non-professional swimmers should avoid deep water and wear life jackets. There are no medical facilities on the island, so bring common medicines and mosquito repellent. Pay close attention to tide safety and strictly follow the tide schedule, especially during spring tides, to avoid being stranded on the island. Swimming is not recommended in this area, so please prioritize water safety.
⑤ Recommended Photo Spots: East side rocks of Butterfly Island (for sunrise and sea clouds), and tide pools on the beach after low tide (for reflection compositions).

Tiantangtan is Fangchenggang’s “hidden gem”—without trendy filters, it offers the most authentic fishing village atmosphere. Watch fishing boats return in the early morning, chase the waves at dusk, and fall asleep to the sound of the surf at night. Here, you can truly escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
