Phoenix Ancient Town is one of the four major ancient towns in Xiangxi and has nurtured famous figures such as Shen Congwen and Huang Yongyu. The night view here is truly spectacular, with Nanhua Bridge being the perfect spot to overlook the night scenery. In the evening, standing on the bridge and waiting for the lights to come on feels like the most romantic ritual for visitors. At 7:30 PM, thousands of lights along both banks of the Tuojiang River gradually illuminate, creating a dazzling, dreamlike scene.

The night in Phoenix Ancient Town is hazy and intoxicating. The stilted buildings along the Tuojiang River are draped in golden-red robes, and strings of lanterns like glowing candied hawthorns draw people into a bygone era. The scent of ginger candy drifts along the stone-paved streets, Miao grandmothers braid colorful plaits at the corners, and the folk songs sung in taverns blend with the sound of the river to form a unique melody. Iconic landmarks such as Xue Bridge, Hong Bridge, Tuojiang Jumping Rocks, and Wanming Tower appear even more rustic in the night, and the stone bridge in the river offers a perfect angle to capture the entire town’s reflection, making it a paradise for photography enthusiasts.

The town’s bars are divided into quiet bars and lively bars. Quiet bars feature singers softly crooning, while lively bars are full of energy, catering to different visitors’ preferences. Additionally, you can attend the "Phoenix Style" bonfire party, where you can sing and dance with Miao brothers and sisters, enjoy Miao costume shows, and watch folk performances such as walking on a knife mountain and firewalking.
