Start your journey right when the doors open at 8:30 AM to beat the crowds and truly soak in the glowing scenery. The recommended route follows the main path, winding past illuminated cliffs, mesmerizing stalactites, and crystal-clear underground streams. Don’t rush—the highlights are in the intricate cave details revealed beneath colorful spotlights. The whole tour takes about 1.5 hours.

For the best photos, snap shots at the heart of the cave where beams of light paint the stone pillars in a rainbow—perfect for “outdoor natural scenery” and close-up nature shots! Capture visitors silhouetted against the illuminated formations for extra drama in your feed.

A tip from my own adventure: arrive early for peace and cooler air, and make sure you’re ready for lots of stair climbing. Comfortable shoes are a must, and those with mobility limitations may prefer skipping this one, since the steps are steep and plentiful. Always watch your step as the cave floors can be slightly damp.

Admission is 98 CNY per person and Qiliang Cave is open from 8:30 AM-5:30 PM, located in Fenghuang County, Xiangxi Tujia. About 15min drive from the old town. 12 CNY taxi ride.
