Traveling the Three Gorges with Kids|This Trip Made My Child Fall in Love with Nature!

After waiting for so long, our Yangtze River Three Gorges family trip finally came true! I was worried my child might get bored, but they were even more excited than I was the whole time, amazed by every scene. The charm of nature is truly magical—no words can describe the shock of seeing it with your own eyes!

✨Qutang Gorge (The real scene on the 10 yuan bill is amazing!)
Qutang Gorge is the shortest of the Three Gorges, but also the most majestic! The cliffs on both sides are tall and steep, and the river rushes endlessly. From the viewing platform, you can see Kuimen at a glance — the exact scene on our 10 yuan bill! I quickly took out a 10 yuan note to compare with my child, who excitedly said, “It’s exactly the same! So cool!” This joy of real-life comparison will stay with them for a long time~
🌄Wu Gorge (A fairyland for kids)
Wu Gorge is incredibly beautiful, with the entire canyon surrounded by mist and clouds. Riding the boat feels like traveling through a fairyland~ I searched for the Goddess Peak with my child and told them the legend behind it. Their eyes lit up, and they even pointed at the peak saying, “Mom, look, the goddess sister is waving!” Such a heartwarming scene~
🌊Xiling Gorge (My child’s favorite “rock adventure”)
Xiling Gorge has many rapids and shoals, and along the way, you can see lots of oddly shaped rocks—some look like little animals, others like castles. My child and I guessed, “Does this rock look like a bunny?” “Is that one a dinosaur?” Watching and playing like this was super fun~ The gorge is deep and spectacular, and while sailing through it, my child shared, “Nature is amazing to create such beautiful places”~
💡Must-know tips for traveling the Three Gorges with kids:

Always choose a room with a balcony! Kids can go out anytime to enjoy the river view and breeze, sometimes even spotting small boats on the water. No need to squeeze with others, plenty of space for parent-child interaction, super comfortable~
Don’t hesitate to pay for extra attractions! Baidi City is full of historical stories, and a visit there teaches kids a lot; Three Gorges Folk Village lets kids experience Tujia culture, wear ethnic costumes, watch the hand-waving dance, and try local snacks—super satisfying~
Don’t forget sunscreen! The sun on the deck is very strong, so protect your child’s face and arms well. Otherwise, sunburn will make them uncomfortable and spoil the fun~
A telephoto lens is a must-have! It captures distant peaks and gorges clearly, perfect for photos of your child with the scenery. The details are spot on, and later when you show the photos, you can relive those moments—so meaningful~
This Three Gorges trip was truly worth it! Not only did we see beautiful scenery, but my child also actively fell in love with nature. Now they often ask, “Mom, are there other places as beautiful as the Three Gorges?” If you want to take your child on a meaningful trip, the Yangtze River Three Gorges is definitely the best choice!
