The village of Kastelruth (or Castelrotto in Italian) in South Tyrol, Italy. The village is located in the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, at the foot of the Schlern mountain. A prominent feature in the picture is the free-standing tower of the Parish Church of Saints Peter and Paul, which is 82 meters high. Kastelruth is known for its beautiful alpine landscape, traditional architecture, and a strong Germanic culture. It is a popular base for hiking, cycling, and skiing in the surrounding area. The village is also famous for the folk music group "Kastelruther Spatzen".
