I'm looking back on my early February trip to Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi—a romantic adventure of winter snow and delicious food! 🌌 Although it wasn't cherry blossom season yet, the snowy scenery of Arakurayama Sengen Park and the silvery beauty of Mount Fuji were breathtaking. Paired with the heartwarming hoto (ほうとう), this trip was filled with warmth and tranquility. 💙 Come relive these enchanting winter moments at Lake Kawaguchi with me! 📸
📍 Location: Mount Fuji & Lake Kawaguchi
📍 Address: Fujikawaguchiko Town, Minamitsuru-gun, Yamanashi Prefecture (Arakurayama Sengen Park and Fudo)
🚗 Transportation: From Tokyo Station, take the JR Chuo Line to Kawaguchiko Station, approximately two hours (¥2,500 one-way). From Kawaguchiko Station, take a bus to Arakurayama Sengen Park, approximately 15 minutes (¥300). Driving along the Mount Fuji Fifth Station route is more convenient, but be aware of winter road conditions. ⏱️

🕒 Hours: Arakurayama Sengen Park is open all day (best time in February: 9:00 AM-11:00 AM); Fudo Restaurant is open 11:00 AM-3:00 PM
💡 Tips: February temperatures are low, so wear warm clothing and non-slip shoes; there are queues at Fudo, so bring cash; and be careful in the snow! ❄️
🌿 Highlight: A stunning fusion of winter snowscapes and rustic cuisine
1. Arakurayama Sengen Park: A tranquil spectacle of snowy Mount Fuji. In early February, Arakurayama Sengen Park sees Mount Fuji draped in silver, the lake frozen over, and the snowy scenery resembles a fairytale! ❄️ Ascend the trail and gaze at the contrast between the snow-capped mountains and Lake Kawaguchi. Although there are no cherry blossoms, the pure tranquility of winter is captivating. 📷 Photo Tip: Use backlighting to capture the snowy Mount Fuji, adding the lake and snow to create a winter wonderland.
2. Fudo Hoto: A heartwarming country cuisine treat. Enjoy their signature Hoto (¥1,500/person) for lunch at Fudo. Thick noodles simmered in a rich pumpkin and vegetable broth create a warm winter breeze. The wooden interior and fireplace add warmth to the memories, perfect for beating the cold! 🍜📷 Photo Tip: Take a close-up of the Hoto noodle soup with the fireplace and wooden table in the background to capture the warmth of the countryside.
3. Strolling Around Lake Kawaguchi: A blend of winter nature and culture. Stroll along the lakeside in the afternoon, where the snow-covered crimson leaves and distant mountains create a striking contrast. Stop by the Kawaguchiko Music Box Museum and experience the tranquility of Japanese music. The winter lakeside tranquility is truly captivating! 🎶📷 Photo Tip: Capture the snowy lake and the details of the music box, adding the distant mountains as a backdrop for a relaxing atmosphere.
