5 must-see attractions around Tokyo 🇯🇵

I've been to Tokyo about five times, and each time, in addition to sightseeing in Tokyo, I've also planned trips to surrounding cities. Some of these trips are suitable for two or three-day trips, while others can be completed on a single day, but they're all worth a visit!

🏞️ Hakone: Famous for its hot springs and Mount Fuji views, must-see attractions include trying the black eggs at Ōwakudani, visiting the torii gates at Hakone Shrine, and taking in the stunning scenery from a pirate ship on Lake Ashi.
🚆 Transportation: Take the Odakyu Romancecar from Shinjuku to Hakone-Yumoto, about 90 minutes.

🗻 Lake Kawaguchiko: The most popular of the Fuji Five Lakes, it offers the best views of Mount Fuji. We recommend the Kawaguchiko Ohashi Bridge and the Tenjoyama Ropeway. You might also consider Fuji-Q Highland for its thrilling roller coaster and terrifying haunted house! In spring, you can also enjoy the cherry blossoms and mountain scenery. 🚍Access: Take a direct express bus from Shinjuku Bus Station to Kawaguchiko Station (approximately 2 hours).

🏯 Kawagoe: Known as "Little Edo," it retains its historic streets and shops, and you can even experience a kimono stroll.
🚍Access: From Ikebukuro, take the Tobu Tojo Line to Kawagoeshi Station (approximately 30 minutes).

🌲 Nikko: A World Cultural Heritage site, the magnificent Toshogu Shrine, the final resting place of Tokugawa Ieyasu, is a must-see for any visitor to Nikko! You can also visit Kegon Falls and Lake Chuzenji. Nikko has its own unique charm in every season and is well worth a visit.
🚆Access: From Asakusa, take the Tobu Railway Limited Express SPACIA to Tobu Nikko Station (approximately 2 hours).

🎐 Shibamata: A nostalgic town near Tokyo, famous for its filming locations. I recommend Shibamata Taishakuten and the old streets of the shrine, where you can try traditional dango (dumplings) and river fish dishes.

🚆Transportation: From Nippori, take the Keisei Kanamachi Line to Shibamata Station (approximately 30 minutes).

📍Suitable for a day trip: Kawagoe and Shibamata
📍Two or three-day trips: Nikko, Hakone, and Kawaguchiko. These places also have wonderful onsen ryokans (hot spring ryokans). I highly recommend staying overnight to fully experience the local culture. 🤩✈️
