While sightseeing in Fukuoka, we visited the tourist spot "Fukuoka Red Brick Cultural Center".
The Fukuoka Red Brick Cultural Center is a retro building located in Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, built in 1909 (Meiji 42). It is a 6-minute walk from Tenjin Station on the Fukuoka City Subway Airport Line.
This beautiful red brick Western-style building from the Meiji era was designed by the Tatsuno Kataoka Architectural Office, famous for designing Tokyo Station and other buildings, and was built in 1909 (Meiji 42) as the Kyushu branch of Nippon Life Insurance Co., Ltd. It is designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan. This is a recommended tourist spot for those interested in old buildings.
