Fukuoka's On a Table: Strawberry & Sakura Sweets Buffet

Last summer, I visited this restaurant located next to the Ichiran main store for their meat-themed afternoon tea. This time, to celebrate the cherry blossom season, they are offering a special Strawberry & Sakura Sweets Buffet for just five days. Luckily, it coincided with my travel dates, so I was able to make a reservation.

The buffet is self-service, allowing you to enjoy as much as you like for 90 minutes. There’s also a drink bar with over 10 types of beverages available as an all-you-can-drink option. The Kyushu 3-berry plate and the live cooking station, where you can order strawberry vanilla crepes with a flambé show, are highlights.

The berry plate and crepes are served directly to your table. I made an early reservation, which gave me a 10% discount, reducing the price from 5,000 yen to 4,500 yen. Around the restaurant, the Nakasu River area is adorned with two types of cherry blossoms, creating a beautiful ensemble that had already captivated me as a sakura enthusiast.

Although it’s a buffet, I spent the first half focusing on savory items reminiscent of afternoon tea. There’s beef curry rice, chicken, roast beef, spaghetti, and even strawberries paired with jamón.

After refreshing my palate with the strawberry crepe and the 3-berry plate, I dedicated the second half to sweets. Out of over 15 types of desserts, I carefully selected 10 to try.

Despite being a Strawberry & Sakura Buffet, the brûlée made with Kumamoto matcha and the strawberry cream mochi filled with matcha cream were particularly delicious.🤣 Perhaps because of the strong meat theme, I’d recommend visiting in the evening to enjoy it with the all-you-can-drink alcohol option. Thank you.
