Afternoon Tea at THE MARKET F (Grand Hyatt Fukuoka)

I participate in the afternoon tea at Grand Hyatt Fukuoka twice a day. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, I have been attending once a year. In 2022, I experienced the self-service afternoon tea at THE MARKET F, in 2023, the afternoon tea at Bar Fizz, and in 2024, the dinner champagne high tea at Bar Fizz.

In 2025, I plan to revisit THE MARKET F, where I first went in 2022, for their strawberry-themed afternoon tea. The strawberry afternoon tea is open for a limited time during the cherry blossom season at the end of March and only on weekends in April. The last day is Saturday, the 26th.

Bar Fizz, which I visited in 2023 and 2024, seems to have closed temporarily, possibly due to poor business or renovations. As a result, the afternoon tea is now held at THE MARKET F. Interestingly, the trays and afternoon tea repertoire are identical.

The locations of the two venues differ: Bar Fizz is on the basement floor, while THE MARKET F is on the first floor. This allows for a wider and higher view of the Canal City fountain show. The afternoon tea starts at 5:30 PM.

The setup is always course-style. First, a three-tier tray and a welcome drink are served. The tray includes six types of sweets, two types of scones, and four types of savory items. The sweets are filled with strawberries.

As you finish the tray, a strawberry parfait is served. It’s creamy and soft. Finally, you get to choose from six types of chocolates and baked goods. Feeling full, I skip the quiche and order the rest.

For drinks, after the welcome drink, you can enjoy unlimited refills. I order the seasonal strawberry tea and Darjeeling tea. The space is spacious, and the lounge opens up to the fountain, providing a sense of openness. Thank you.
