[Hiroshima/Tomonoura] A relaxing trip to the filming locations of Ghibli movies

A port town in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture ⚓︎

There are Ponyos everywhere, so it's fun to look for them ☺️

The symbol of Tomonoura, the "Joyato", is a lighthouse built in 1859 to guide ships in and out, and is the largest surviving Joyato from the Edo period!

It is part of Japan's first national park, the Setonaikai National Park, and is one of the most representative scenic spots there 𓂃𓈒𓏸

It has long been known as a "port for waiting for the tide", as it is written about in the Manyoshu 𓅯 ⸒⸒
