In Furano, Hokkaido, I had the most delicious soup curry, so delicious that I licked the plate clean! Furanoya カレーのふらのや, a soup curry specialty store, is located next to Furano Shrine and City Hall. After we visited the Forest Spirit Terrace, we checked the nearby restaurants and this one had the highest score, so we drove over without saying a word!

The exterior of Furanoya's log cabin is very cute, and there is a whole wall of comic books inside the store. As soon as I entered, I smelled the rich aroma of curry and my stomach immediately became hungry! The four of us ordered the signature soup curry, served with fried pork chops or fried chicken. The turmeric rice went well with the spicy soup curry. The soup was full of wild vegetables and was delicious. The curry soup was so good that it was quickly cleared out.

Hokkaido has beautiful mountains and waters, and the ingredients grown here are very fresh and sweet. Combined with the versatile curry, anything cooked in it is delicious. No wonder soup curry is so popular. It is so delicious that you want to have another bowl of rice!
