Furano, Hokkaido - Forest Elf Terrace

Entering the forest beside the New Furano Prince Hotel, a winding wooden path quietly unfolds. This is the "Forest Fairy Terrace" (Ninguru Terrace), one of Furano's most enchanting secrets. Leaves scatter across the path, and the air is filled with the fragrance of the forest, creating a sense of being transported to a fairyland.

The terrace's design is inspired by the "Ninguru," a fairy from the legends of the Ainu people of Hokkaido. Strolling along the path, you'll find approximately 25 unique cabins, each selling handicrafts: silver jewelry, wood carvings, paper art, glassware, and more. Each piece is meticulously crafted with the care of the artisans. Some shops also offer DIY workshops, allowing you to create your own souvenir.

At the end of the path, you'll find the "Mori Toki Café," where large floor-to-ceiling windows allow you to sip a cup of fragrant coffee while gazing at the forest view. Here, tranquility and nature intertwine, creating an ideal escape from the hustle and bustle of life.

Although it rained lightly that day, it only added to the mystical atmosphere. The terrace was quiet and peaceful at night, with visitors whispering to each other, and I was immersed in the tranquility. This trip to the Forest Spirit Terrace allowed me to experience the natural charm and warm human touch of Hokkaido.
