Fuzhou: A Little Europe of Its Own

I heard that Fuzhou has a little Europe-like scene similar to the filming location of Jay Chou's music video, so I rushed to Yantai Mountain as soon as I got off the high-speed train. But I was immediately disappointed—this is not a scenic spot at all, it's simply like falling into a film set! The red brick houses covered with vines hide independent coffee shops. I held an iced Americano and sat at the entrance of Shicuo Church, watching an old man walking his dog while fanning himself with a cattail leaf fan, and I was in a daze as if I had traveled to the old town of Lisbon.

At noon, I was dragged by a local friend to Three Lanes and Seven Alleys. I complained, "Every city has this kind of street," but my body was very honest... Yonghe Fish Balls (Nanhou Street Branch) on the main street burst in my mouth with a juicy freshness that made me stomp my feet! When I turned into Huang Lane, it immediately became quiet. I listened to the story of Lin Juemin's "A Letter to His Wife" at Bingxin Former Residence with a tour guide, and tears almost shattered the bluestone slabs. (Friendly reminder: There are many people next to the Love Tree, so you have to work hard to find a spot for taking pictures!)

In the evening, I flashed to Jiefang Bridge! I didn't have any hope for the "photo trick" of Zhongzhou Island, but when the river breeze blew, the yellow castle glowed in the sunset, which was super atmospheric. My friend said to me: "This place is Yiwu Small Commodity City during the day, and Disneyland at night..."

Foodie surprise: firewood wok edge hidden in the community! People line up at 5am. The old woman uses a clam shell to scrape the rice milk into thin slices, sprinkles clams and celery, and serves it with a fried triangular cake. It only costs CNY 6 per person, and it made me cry...
