Day 1: Time in the Alleys and Island Pastoral Song
Passing through Yijin Alley in Three Lanes and Seven Alleys, make a woodblock print of the character "Fu" (fortune) in a Ming and Qing courtyard (Lin Congyi Former Residence Experience Workshop). Drive 2 hours to Pingtan, Fuzhou, and head straight to Beigang Village. Colorful stone houses scattered on the hillside, hand-painting wave stone paintings in a cultural and creative shop. In the evening, drive along the most beautiful island ring road to Changjiang'ao Beach, roll down the car window, with blue waves on the right and green mountains on the left, windmills passing by to the background music of "Kikujiro's Summer," instantly transported to a little Kamakura!
Day 2: Fishing Village Fireworks and Black Stone Rhapsody
Take a boat to Dongxiang Island, where old fishermen serve golden crab sticky rice—crab roe seeps into the sticky rice, so fresh you lick your fingers. In the afternoon, explore Heping Village, turn into the "public toilet" on the navigation that leads to a road straight to the sea, as if driving into the secret world of "Spirited Away." At Jingsha Black Stone Beach and Jingsha Black Hole, during low tide and cloudy days, the gray-black reefs and white waves create a desolate feeling like Iceland.
Day 3: The Final Chapter of the Twin Cities' Taste Buds
Return to Fuzhou, Fujian, rush to the seafood market at Liushui Town Pier, buy a bag of lively nine-jointed shrimp for 20 yuan. The last stop in the city is the Gushan Cable Car; in the evening, take the "Sunset Flying Car" to overlook the golden Min River (park your car at Huimin Garage at the foot of Gushan). Descend the mountain and head straight to Daming Road Food Street, fish swallow soup paired with oyster omelet, crispy and charred edges are the taste highlight finale.
