Introducing Yaojiashan

Yaojiashan, located in Caidian Subdistrict, Huangpi District, Wuhan, is a 4A-level scenic spot. Its rugged terrain and rugged hills made it a red fortress during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, earning the distinction of "Wuhan's First Village of the Anti-Japanese War." Yaojiashan serves as the northern gateway to Huangpi, 90 kilometers south of downtown Wuhan.

From 1941 to 1946, the New Fourth Army's Fifth Division's administrative and supervisory departments were permanently stationed at Yaojiashan. The former site of the Fifth Division's administrative and supervisory offices at Yaojiashan served as the headquarters of the division and the Hubei-Henan Border Region Party Committee. It was also where veteran proletarian revolutionaries like Li Xiannian and Chen Shaomin fought and lived. Yaojiashan covers an area of ​​13,000 mu (approximately 16,000 mu) and is surrounded by nine peaks, including Shuangfengjian, Xifengjian, and Chashan. It boasts evergreen scenery and cool summers and warm winters.

There are eight former sites of the New Fourth Army's Fifth Division in Yaojiashan Village, namely: the former site of the Sizheng Committee, the ammunition depot, the former residences of Li Xiannian and Chen Shaomin, the General Staff Headquarters, the printing factory, the Political Department, the Logistics Department and the Repair Shop.
