3 Days 2 Nights Slow Travel Guide in Fuzhou🏮 A perfect combination of ancient alleys, mountains and sea, and artsy vibes—this route is truly ideal for those who love a leisurely vacation~
✨DAY 1: Garden Hotel + Stroll through Ancient Alleys
Check in at Sanfang Qixiang Sanbao Bindi (No. 251 Tonghu Road), a hidden gem hotel in Sanfang Qixiang that’s absolutely amazing! Open the wooden door to a full view of a traditional Chinese garden. Each room has a unique design; the one we stayed in had a small courtyard perfect for photos📸 In the morning, we also experienced making handmade lacquer fans at the hotel, and you can take your finished fan home as a souvenir~
In the afternoon, explore Sanfang Qixiang (just a 3-minute walk from the hotel). Recommended route: Lin Zexu Memorial Hall → Waterside Theater Stage → Yan Fu’s Former Residence. The alleys hide many artsy little shops—don’t forget to buy a jasmine flower bracelet (only 5 yuan and smells amazing!)
✨DAY 2: Climb Gushan for the Panorama + Chase Blue Tears in Pingtan
Take the cable car up Gushan Mountain early (recommended before 8 AM to avoid crowds and lines). Don’t miss Yongquan Temple at the summit, a millennium-old temple that’s truly breathtaking! Be sure to try the vegetarian meal at the temple (about 30 yuan per person).
In the afternoon, head to Pingtan (1.5-hour drive). Recommended activities:
▫️ Beigang Cultural and Creative Village: super cute colorful stone houses
▫️ Changjiang’ao Windmill Fields: the windmill sea at sunset is stunning
▫️ Nighttime Blue Tears chase (highest chance from April to June!)
✨DAY 3: Pingtan Island Tour
Wake up early to watch the sunrise at Longwangtou Beach, then rent an electric scooter to circle the island (50 yuan/day). Must-visit spots:
▪️ Houyan Island (the closest place to Taiwan)
▪️ Tannan Bay (white sandy beach with ultra-fine sand)
▪️ Haitan Ancient City (ancient-style architectural complex)
💡Useful TIPS:
1. Breakfast at Sanbao Bindi features Fuzhou-style vegetarian dishes
2. It’s recommended to stay in a county hotel in Pingtan (we stayed at Haoxiang International, sea view room only 300+ yuan)
3. For chasing the blue tears, check the "Pingtan Blue Tears" forecast and bring a jacket at night
🍜Food List:
▫️ Tongli Rouyan (Sanfang Qixiang branch): century-old brand
▫️ Lao Fuzhou Xu Ji (Dongjiekou branch): Buddha Jumps Over the Wall soup is super authentic
▫️ Tanshi Fried Buns (Pingtan): 2 yuan each, juicy and fragrant
