Gangneung is a popular tourist destination in Korea.

Gangneung is famous for its tofu dishes, especially Soondubu Jjampon.

I went to the original restaurant of this popular dish.

I actually found this restaurant after getting directions from a taxi driver.

He told me to be prepared to wait because there's always a line, so I went there around 3:15 PM on a weekday, since their break time is from 4 PM.

And yet, there were 40 groups waiting!

I can't believe there was such a long wait, even at this time of day on a weekday! 😳!

However, the second floor of the cafe directly in front of us was a waiting room where we could sit and wait. The turnover was fast, and we were able to get in after about a 20-minute wait.

I ordered Soondubu Jjampon and tofu.

The Soondubu Jjampon was filled with seafood like octopus and shellfish, and the tofu was smooth and delicious.

My husband loves tofu, so our trip to Gangneung was a great one, with tofu-filled meals. 🤍
